education

One Island Media creates cinematic educational videos for universities, colleges, schools, research centres, and nonprofit organizations across Vancouver Island and British Columbia. Specializing in student recruitment, science communication, Indigenous education, documentary storytelling, and community outreach, we produce authentic films that educate, inspire, and create meaningful connections.

Example Project: UVic Engineering Expansion

One Island Media produced a cinematic fundraising and stakeholder engagement film for the University of Victoria's Engineering & Computer Science Expansion project. Created to support donor outreach and government engagement, the film communicates the vision for a modern engineering and research facility designed to expand innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and hands-on learning for future generations of students. Produced by our Port Alberni-based video production company, the project combines documentary storytelling, executive interviews, and cinematic campus visuals to transform complex institutional goals into a compelling narrative. The film demonstrates how strategic educational video production can strengthen fundraising campaigns, engage stakeholders, and communicate the long-term impact of major capital projects.

Example Project 2: NVIT Institutional Brand Film

One Island Media partnered with the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT), British Columbia's Indigenous public post-secondary institute, to produce a cinematic institutional brand film that showcases the college's mission, learning environment, and commitment to Indigenous education. The film highlights student experiences, campus life, and NVIT's role in preparing future leaders through culturally grounded, community-focused education. Produced by our Vancouver Island-based video production company, the project combines documentary storytelling, cinematic interviews, and authentic campus visuals to help prospective students, community partners, and stakeholders connect with NVIT's vision and values. The film demonstrates how educational video production can strengthen student recruitment, institutional marketing, and community engagement while celebrating Indigenous knowledge and lifelong learning.
