Example Project #2: Freshwater Alliance
One Island Media partnered with the Canadian Freshwater Alliance to produce a short documentary-style brand film exploring the importance of water security for businesses and communities in British Columbia’s Cowichan Valley. Following the owner and operator of Green Fire Farms, the film connects freshwater conservation with agriculture, local food production, climate resilience, and the long-term sustainability of resource-dependent businesses.
Through cinematic farm, landscape, and natural resource imagery, the project presents water security through the personal perspective of a local farmer whose livelihood depends on a healthy watershed. The resulting film combines environmental storytelling with commercial video production to help the Canadian Freshwater Alliance communicate a complex issue in a relatable, human-centred way.
